Each piece is a comic, a story told in one panel, almost like an illustration for a tale that was never written. Some are adventure stories, some are cautionary tales, or establishing a pantheon for some long lost set of gods from a wild and sinister mythology. The story I told myself as I was drawing and carving it isn’t nearly as important as the story you read in the image when you, the audience, take it in.
My work is carved, inked and printed on a physical printing press because I find the carving peaceful, sometimes even meditative and the final product has a weight and a kind of fidelity that no other process can duplicate.
